Sheryl is an experienced leader, minister, and pastor ordained in the Baptist tradition, having served over a decade in children’s ministries. Sheryl has an authentic, open heart of love for kids and families, teaching, and community care. She would love to connect with your family and is here to help you and your kids find connection with the life of the church and with God.

Jenny is a community activist-pastor and clergy candidate in the UMC. Bates is a sixth-year seminary student at Brite Divinity School and holds leadership roles at Union United Methodist Mission Congregation, OUTreach Denton, and the North Texas Annual Conference Board of Church & Society. Jenny can be found anywhere in North Texas on any given day, but the best days are spending time with Wava the corgi and the Denton queer and trans community. Jenny is here to help you connect with God and grow in your care for all of God’s children.

Josh Taylor has many yeas of experience in choral conducting and in ministry! He is currently a candidate in the Doctor of Pastoral Music program at Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He leads our Worship Team, conducts our Adult Choirs, and would love to connect you to the music ministries of our church!

Dr. David Huff (he/him)

Dr. David Huff is a musician and sound engineer who earned a masters and Ph.D. in music theory at UNT. Dave has a long career as a church singer and instrumentalist. Through his classical-training paired with his experience playing in bands, David straddles the musical line between tradition and progression, bringing a combination of expertise and imagination to the Modern Worship experience. He plays several instruments, including the bass, piano, trombone, and our favorite—the Stick!

Krystal serves in two roles at our church as both the Director of Communications and the Open Worship Leader. She has a background in communications and music and is honored to serve at FUMC Denton. She would love to help you get connected with Open and the life of the church!

Wendy serves in our Jesus Fuente de Vida community along with her family. She leads beautiful worship music and helps create a vibrant community. Wendy would love to help you connect with our Hispanic Ministry!

Jamie teaches elementary music methods in the UNT College of Music and for the Denton ISD academy, mentors student teachers, and now is part of our Worship Team here at the church, where she has been part of our FUMC Denton family for a long time! Jamie is responsible for our Children's Choir and will also assist with the Credo Youth Choir. She’s here to help your kids and youth connect with the Music Ministry at FUMC Denton!

Brian has served in church staff and in laity roles over the years and it led Brian to church administration. He feels called to support staff and lay people in whatever ways they need so their programs can be fulfilling and successful. Brian is here to help you with any business-related questions and to be of service in any way he can.

Martha has been on our team since 1999. She knows all the nooks, crannies and cracks to be found. She manages the custodial staff and cares for our church buildings. Martha is also an Associate Pastor with the Hispanic Ministry. She is happy to help you find your way and help you with any building inquiries.

Pat Peters is our FUMC Denton Librarian. She’s been a Librarian for over 20 years. Pat and her husband Jeff have been members of FUMC Denton since 1981, where they have participated in various musical groups and served in many capacities in church leadership and service. She would love to connect you and your children with literary resources when you visit the library!
