Origin Stories: Wandering God Wrestler

This Sunday, we are continuing the worship series, “Origin Stories,” with the story of Jacob from Genesis 32:22-31. Jacob is preparing to go mano-a-mano (Spanish for hand-to-hand) with his sibling, who has promised to kill him; but first Jacob must go mano-a-mano with God. It’s a story of grace— about a God big enough to mix it up with us and take our questions. Jacob’s legacy is as a wandering God wrestler. It’s a relationship we are all invited into, for God wants to bless us so we can be a blessing to others.
