Pumpkin Games

We had 29 students and 11 adults join us at the annual Youth Pumpkin Games! Other guests who wanted to see the fun were welcomed in, too.

We had 35 small (fist-sized) pumpkins and 20 basketball-sized pumpkins.  Only 3 of the latter survived. Small pumpkins were shot from a 3-person slingshot. Survivors were used for batting practice.

How many rubber bands does it take to split a pumpkin? Depending on the pumpkin it was 96 to 221. We put rubber bands on the larger pumpkins until they split, some pretty dramatically. Students worked out their frustrations on the remaining pumpkin halves with baseball bats.

At the end, a contest to see who could bring back the heaviest trash bag (filled with pumpkin pieces).

It was a wonderful time for all! Thank you for your continued support of our FUMC Denton Youth!
