How to Join Us
Thank you for you interest in First UMC-Denton. We strive to share and shine God’s love as a Christ – centered church, where
every member is a minister. We would love for you visit our church and participate in worship with us on Sunday morning.
If you would like to talk to someone about our church or would like an information packet, please contact

How To Belong
As a church open to offering unique opportunities in ministry and service, new members are always welcome. Typically, those
joining let us know a little bit about their background by indicating how they will be joining:
- Profession of Faith
– A person making a first time commitment to faith in Jesus Christ and to His church.
- Transfer of Membership from another denomination
– A person joining First United Methodist from another faith tradition.
- Transfer from another United Methodist Church
– A person coming to First UMC-Denton from another United Methodist Church.
If you are comfortable joining the church during a worship service, we invite you to meet us at the altar during the final
hymn, meet the ministers and make the vows to support the church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your
service. This is a special moment for all of the congregation, and does not require that you make any prior arrangements.
You may, however, pick up one of the printed Invitation to Join brochures in the pew racks of the sanctuary to familiarize
yourself with the questions you will be asked.
